This Privacy Policy explains how PDF AI - Assistente Docs (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App. It applies to the Android application identified by the package name br.com.francieli.pdf_ai and to the supporting services operated at pdf.snapdark.com.

1. Summary

Many document operations are performed only on your device. Some optional features, however, transmit data to our servers or to service providers. These include artificial intelligence, voice transcription, online viewing of certain Office documents, advertising, analytics, crash reporting, credits, and purchases. The sections below describe those practices in detail.

2. Information processed on your device

The App may access or create files on your device so that you can:

open, read, search, edit, merge, split, compress, protect, convert, print, or share documents;
scan documents and recognize text from images;
read document text aloud;
manage recent files, favorites, preferences, credits, and cached content.

When a feature is performed entirely on-device, the associated document content is not collected by us. Local files and preferences remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Merely granting a file, photo, audio, or camera permission does not by itself cause that content to be uploaded.

3. Information transmitted off your device

Artificial intelligence and voice features

If you choose to use an AI feature, the App may transmit your prompt, in-app message, extracted document text, selected image, scan, or voice recording, together with a pseudonymous user or device identifier and technical request information. This data is used to generate answers, summaries, translations, image analyses, text extraction, or audio transcriptions. Requests may be processed by our backend and by AI service providers such as OpenAI or OpenRouter, depending on the feature and current service configuration.

Online document viewing

Certain legacy Office formats may require online viewing. If you use this feature, the selected file is uploaded to Cloudflare R2 and made available through a difficult-to-guess public URL so it can be retrieved by Microsoft Office for the web or Google Docs Viewer. Anyone who obtains the exact public URL may be able to access that uploaded file. Do not use online viewing for documents that you do not want transmitted to these services.

Uploaded Office files may remain in cloud storage until they are deleted by us. The current App does not provide an automatic in-app deletion control for these uploaded copies. You may request deletion using the contact address in Section 12.

Advertising and consent

The App uses Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and the type of ad served, these services may automatically collect or share an IP address (which may indicate approximate location), advertising or app-set identifiers, app interactions, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. These data may be used for advertising, analytics, frequency control, fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Where required, the App presents Google's consent or privacy-options interface before requesting ads.

Analytics and crash reporting

The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They may collect app launches, screen or feature interactions, installation identifiers, device and operating-system information, crash logs, stack traces, performance or diagnostic information, and developer-defined diagnostic data. Our diagnostic context may include the type and extension of a document, an approximate size range, the current screen, and the operation being performed. It is not intended to include the document's full content or filename.

Device identifiers, credits, and abuse prevention

The App creates or obtains a stable device identifier, hashes it, stores the hash locally, and may transmit that pseudonymous identifier to our backend. We use it to manage free credits, rewarded credits, usage limits, service operation, and abuse or fraud prevention.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play or the applicable app-store or payment provider. We do not receive full payment-card details from Google Play. The App may receive and process product identifiers, purchase or subscription status, restoration status, and related purchase-history information so it can grant premium features and troubleshoot billing. Limited purchase status and product information may also be included in crash or diagnostic logs.

4. Types of data we may collect or share

Depending on the features you use, the App may collect or share:

approximate location inferred from an IP address;
other in-app messages, including AI prompts;
photos and scanned images;
voice or sound recordings;
files, documents, and extracted document text;
app and ad interactions;
crash logs and diagnostic information;
device, advertising, app-set, or installation identifiers;
purchase and subscription history or status.

AI content, photos, audio, and documents are provided only when you choose a feature that requires them. Advertising, analytics, crash reporting, and credit-management data may be collected automatically as part of operating the App.

5. How we use information

We use information to:

provide document, AI, transcription, online-viewing, credit, and premium features;
display, measure, and protect advertising;
understand feature usage and improve stability and performance;
diagnose crashes and technical failures;
process or restore purchases and grant entitlements;
prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

6. Service providers and data sharing

We may transfer data to providers that help operate the App, including:

Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform for ads and consent management;
Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for analytics and diagnostics;
OpenAI and OpenRouter for AI processing and voice transcription;
Cloudflare R2 for online document storage;
Microsoft Office for the web and Google Docs Viewer for online document display;
Google Play and other applicable payment providers for purchases and subscriptions;
hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate pdf.snapdark.com.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy notices or on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business reorganization. We do not sell your documents or AI prompts.

7. Retention

Local documents and preferences remain until you delete them, clear App storage, or uninstall.
Cloud-uploaded Office files may remain until deleted by us or the storage service.
AI requests and outputs are retained according to our operational needs and the applicable AI provider's policies and settings.
Analytics, advertising, crash, and diagnostic data are retained according to the relevant provider's controls and retention periods.
Purchase records may be retained by the payment platform and, where necessary, for support, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.

Retention periods may vary based on the feature, provider, legal requirements, backups, fraud prevention, and whether the information can be associated with a particular request or device.

8. Security

Our production service endpoints use HTTPS/TLS to protect data in transit. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. A user-selected HTTP address may not provide transport encryption, so avoid opening or entering sensitive information on unencrypted addresses. Public document-viewer URLs should be treated as sensitive and should not be shared.

9. Your choices and deletion requests

You can avoid transmitting AI, image, audio, or document content by not using the related online feature.
You can delete local files and App data using the App or Android system controls.
Where available, you can reopen Google's privacy options from the App and adjust advertising consent choices.
You can reset or delete the Android advertising identifier through your device settings.
You can request deletion of identifiable backend data or an uploaded document by emailing us. Include enough information to locate the data, but do not email confidential document content.

We may need to verify a request and may retain information when required by law, for security, or when it cannot reasonably be linked to the requester. The current App does not provide user account creation.

10. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when the App, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version at this address and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or store listing when appropriate.
